Catalyzing the creation of Social Entrepreneurs as the beacons of hope
​Who will inspire and lead their community in the fight against poverty.
These entrepreneurs are winners of Project Gazaab's business competition, which is a charity project conducted by students from Singapore Management University for high schools in rural areas. Winners are given a S$300-S$700 grant with no strings attached, with the only condition being to use the funds to start a business for the good of the community. Founded in 2009, Project Gazaab has expanded to 3 locations in Nepal & India, and 5 locations planned for in 2012.

The families of the team are all local farmers with experience and knowledge farming in the area.

Having been helping out since they were young, the members of this team were keen to put their expertise to greater use and generate more income to give their parents a better life and ward against unexpected calamities that have devastated their families economic situation before.

The 5 resilient young ladies making up this team aspires to produce high quality Indian honey for export to the rest of the world.

Since winning the competition, the members have all undergone training in farming honey and has already procured the necessary equipment needed to breed bees & produce honey. They are looking forward to becoming a shining example of women empowerment in a male dominated environment.

Looking at how students have to make trips to the local market place to purchase lunch or pack food from home, this team decided to help make life easier for their fellow students by setting up a canteen offering healthy & affordable food.

Having spent the first half of the year building the kitchen & canteen area, the canteen is ready for business when the school reopens in a few weeks time!
